WSTX 970 QSL

Le Isole Vergini statunitensi non erano poi così difficili da ascoltare finché la cubana Radio Rebelde non ha iniziato a trasmettere sui 1620 kHz. Ed io non avevo mai scritto a WDHP! Ecco che quando durante la spedizione a Parkalompolo (http://www.furuogrund.se/pax/PAX/pax91.rtf) ho ascoltato sui 970 kHz l'identificazione di WSTX, St.Croix ho immediatamente inviato un rapporto di ricezione. Senza successo!
Dopo otto mesi di silenzio ho trovato che uno dei DXer svedesi, presente nello stesso periodo, aveva ricevuto la conferma; non c'era l'indicazione di chi l'aveva firmato ma un call radioamatoriale. La ricerca con Google è stata immediata e soprattutto fruttuosa, così come il risultato finale: conferma in 53 minuti, esattamente come la precedente di WTWW!
Ecco cosa mi scrive Herb Schoenbohm, Station Engineer:
"Alessandro...I will send you a card from the V.I this week.  I
appreciated you SWL reception report and can verify it is correct from
our programming content.
Our transmitter is a Nautel ND-5 but at that time we are running 1KW
night time power.  Our locations if featured on QRZ.com under my call
KV4FZ However, the 300 foot tower is gone from Hurricane Hugo  and has
been replaced by  a simple inverted L whihc is 45 feet high and 200 
feet long near the ocean which is on the picture of the location.
